Description

Sword was carried by infantry officers in both the Crimean and Boer wars. The hilt has a Gothic design, which also bears Queen Victoria's royal cipher 'VR', Victoria Regina. It was eventually replaced by the 1897 pattern, which offered a better hand guard.
