There is a fringe at the bottom that adds 60mm to the length . Of the wooden banner the background is brown it has yellow writing in the top half including " 1942 " in the top left corner , " 1950 " in the top left corner . The top centre has " Australian Army / Medical Women's / Service " written in yellow on a reflective red background within a white boarded arch . The bottom half has the places they served " Bougainville / Australia , Ceylon , Middle East / Borneo , New Guinea , Papua / Singapore , Hospital Ships / B . C . O . F . , Japan / V . A . D . 1941" each place on a line is separated by a dash ( - ) There are two tassels , one hanging from each side attached st the top bar . There is a rubber stopper at each end of the top bar . In both the top bar and the centre bottom there are holes .
